My love for music goes way back to being a young child hanging out with Goldie at the gas station in LA on Olympic blvd. entranced by his guitar playing and pointed alligator shoes.
Like any young kid, I posed in front of the mirror throwing shapes and singing along to Elvis, Beatles, Stones. I count myself lucky indeed to have arrived in the world during the golden age of rock n roll... seeing Hendrix, Zeppelin, Stones, The Who, Dylan etc… and then growing up to actually play with many of my heroes is quite a journey indeed.
What strikes me as compelling is that I ended up a teacher after all the recording, performing and traveling. It's the “passing it on” that intrigues me at this point. But you can’t give away what you don’t have. So the journey so far has been the earth school experience that colors my teaching style.
Collaborative artistry is something I've always pursued as a writer and performer. The act of playing with like-minded musicians in it for art’s sake has always driven me. The truth is, I've been lucky to have made a living doing what I love. But even if I didn’t get paid, I would do it anyway because it’s in the blood. It’s always been a calling for me.
At this point, I have nothing to prove. I'm in it purely for the craft and to experience the creative process while sharing the amazing joy & magic of music with others.
